The library of the Mount Athos Center, which is housed on the first floor of the Nedelkos building, began three years ago with a basic goal of gathering the largest number of publications as possible, both Greek and foreign language, of Byzantine arts and history as well as works from conferences, publications of research, and doctoral dissertations concerning the Holy Mountain.
Contained in the library, besides the publications of the Mount Athos Center is the published stock from the Cultural Capitol (Thessaloniki 1997) and the republications or photographically reproduced editions of rare books, from purchases that were made primarily with interest in old and rare publications.  The library also contains book donations.
A great part of the library is comprised of books granted to the Mount Athos Center Library by publications houses, foundations, institutions and research centers that the Mount Athos also shares its publications in exchange.  
The library has already been designed and organized by a specialist librarian with the prospect of development in the coming years.

LIBRARY LOANS
Library loans are available for specialists and scientists and are filled according to demand by request, only inside the space of the Mount Athos Center.

THE READING ROOM
The reading room will soon be open within the space of the library.
