This year, 2020, the Mount Athos Centre is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its foundation. To mark the event, it is organising an extensive programme of celebratory events.
The first of these events is the exhibition of photographs by Nikos Koukis entitled ‘Mount Athos – Life in the Desert’, which will be on display in the exhibition space of the Mount Athos Centre from 13 February until 4 April 2020 (extension until September 5, 2020).


Mount Athos Center with the Chilandar Monastery Institute, on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the consecration of the Athonite Saint Savvas of Chilandar Monastery as the first Archbishop of Serbia (1219-2019) present together a group exhibition of paintings featuring modern artistic representations of St. Savvas entitled “The Athonite Saint Savvas of Chilandar. Modern artistic representations”.

In the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, and the Mayor of Thessaloniki, Mr. Konstantinos Zervas, the exhibition organised by the Mount Athos Centre entitled ‘St. Demetrius in the Art of Mount Athos’ was officially opened yesterday, Saturday 26 October 2019, at Thessaloniki City Hall.
